Long Time, No See

Haven't been writing much, lately, have I? Truth to be told, I don't know what to write. That's not strictly speaking, true. What I meant was that I don't know what to write for the blog. I do write, and I do want to write and publish. I do write other stuff, not fit for the blog, and I have been focussed on that, lately.

Writing on this blog has really given me confidence, and that is thanks to you, dear Readers (if you still see this). I didn't think anyone would want to read what I wrote when I started. Gradually I have come to believe I can write, and that has been very important for me. So thanks!

Somehow I don't feel the urge to write my fantasies on the blog, like I did before. I'm not saying I'm closing the blog, just that I need to think what to do with it. If there are readers still, out there, I don't mind hearing from you. Are you, like me, interested in what hides behind the fantasies?

I have more and more come to be fascinated by the themes that fantasies touch upon, not just for pleasure, or entertainment, but for what they mean to me, to you, to us. I think, as you know, that there is more going on below the surface, that it isn't just a pastime, for a thrill. I think fantasies touch upon emotions and experiences that are hidden for us. I am not so naïve that I think we can analyse everything that's there, but still, to me, fantasies are more than just entertainment.

Tell me what you think. And if you don't want to, don't. Have a lovely Christmas, and a brilliant New Year, all the same.

I have started to moderate the comments, and that is not because anyone has been rude, but because the spam-filter has started to let through a lot of spam, and I will not be able to monitor the blog during Christmas. So if you comment, don't despair, I will read them. And hopefully this will be only a temporary measure.

I have added a picture to this blogpost, completely unrelated to the text, just to cheer you up.

Janice,
great to see you again.
Of course the fantasies that we dream or write relate to our secret or not so secret desires.
Sometimes we write to release the pressures of our frustrations, other times to organize our thoughts.
It is always healthy and sometimes helpful to air one's desires and fantasies.
Which I hope that you will do in the not too distant future.
With best wishes for Christmas and the New year.
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.

Hi Janice. Yes it's a long time since we used to chat on Yahoo. Remember me the teacher. I am sorry to hear your running out of ideas/motivation for stories. Your stories are superb as I have always said and I would love to use some of them if I may on my blog http://spanksalot.blogspot.com and the new group I have begun as an extension of that at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spankingoodgroup/
Please keep in touch even if you stop writing and as I have said I would love to use some of your stories and illustrate them suitably in my blog or group.
Hope to hear from you soon

Janice, it is good to find a post from you after so long. I'm sure that your other readers, like me, have missed you and look forward to hearing more from you.

Like you, I am indeed "interested in what hides behind the fantasies." There must be a million sites where fantasies of all flavors are posted, but the writing rarely ventures beyond the mechanical. What has made your writing so entertaining (for me) is that you have ventured into the characters' inner lives.

Since I'm one of your loyal readers, it should be no surprise that the things you write about interest me. The origin of this interest within myself is a mystery to me. As you said, "fantasies touch upon emotions and experiences that are hidden for us." I find it fascinating to try to uncover those emotions and experiences within myself. Thank you for what you have done to help me explore.

This blog doesn't have to be limited to the old themes - unless you want it that way. I for one would be interested in what you have to say on other subjects. (Frankly, I was getting bored with Tom's School Days. I think you were too.)

If you are tired of writing about the same old things, what would be wrong with posting some of your other writings?

In case you haven't already found it, here is a website showing many of the works works of Jean-Leon Gerome, the artist who produced the image accompanying this post.

http://www.jeanleongerome.org/

In addition to slave auctions, he also paints about harems, ancient history and mythology. You might enjoy browsing his work. Actually, some of the ancient stories that Gerome painted make for some really interesting reading! I've been hopping from some of the painting titles to Wikipedia this morning.

Happy holidays, and all the best to you in the new year.

Nice to hear that you are still about. I was getting worried. Readers and writers all live and learn and grow and change with time, that what makes life interesting. Was that you who wrote fifty shades of Grey? :)

I have missed your writing. I am sure the others have as well. It may take a while for them to see your post.

Dear Paul, I'm glad you haven't given up on me. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too (and all the rest of you). Even if it is obvious what motivates us, it is an interesting topic, all the same.

Dear Darla, the title of my blogpost seems unusually apt. Good to hear from you.

Dear Teachertalk, I didn't say I'm running out of ideas, far from it, just ideas for the blog. If you want to use my stories, write to my email, and we can discuss it. I am moderating the comments because of all the spam, maybe it will be only temporary.

Dear Antonio LC, It is a great comfort. It was the very reason I started to blog. I am happy I can be of support for someone else struggling with this sense of loneliness, or what to call it.

Dear Michael G, It is really good to hear that there are more people interested in what lies behind. Thanks for the support. I do know of Gerome, thanks for the URL. I am not bored with Tom, far from it. I just stopped being motivated to write it on the blog, boring you readers with a story that I found fun, but no one else did.

Dear Surfer from Down Under, I think you are right, Life is Change. No, I didn't write Fifty Shades of Grey. I wouldn't mind the money though.

Dear Professor, Thank you for your comment. Some have obviously seen it. I am very pleased with that.

Hugs

Of course Janice did NOT write "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Janice is a much better writer than that.

My Dear,

Lovely to see that you have posted again, if not a story at least an update. I agree with the comment that you were showing signs of burnout. Taking a break from the blog, working on other projects, rethinking your place -- if not in the universe then at least in the blogosphere -- all positive steps. Heck, I dd pretty much the same thing myself, as you may recall.

Please do check in from time to time, as will I.

Warmest, deepest regards,
(both figurative and literal),
from your humble servant,

Wystan E.

Dear Michael G, I hope you are right, I haven't read the book so I don't know if it would be easy or not.

Dear ColScott, Thank you for your kind words. I don't know anything about the model. Sorry.

Dear Wystan E., Nice to hear from you. I have to say, though, that just because you found my story boring, isn't a sign of burnout.

Hugs
